Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant, Bhadravati, a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited, is looking for competent personnel for recruitment to the following posts:
1 Post : Operator –cum-Technician – Trainees
*Reservation for PH and Ex-servicemen is on the horizontal basis.
2 Eligibility Conditions
i)Qualification:

Age relaxation for PH and Ex-Servicemen will be provided as per rules.

3 Period of Training:
Minimum period of two years which can be extended as per rules.
4a;Pay during training period:
4b Scales of pay on regular employment after training period:(Due for revision W.E.F 1-1-2012)
5 Emoluments and other benefits:
Basic pay, Dearness Allowance, company accommodation or HRA, CCA, Incentive, Reimbursement of Local Traveling Expenses and other facilities such as medical for self and family, Provident Fund, Gratuity, LTC, Leave Encashment, etc.
6 Application Fee and Processing Fee:
Operator-cum-Technician Trainees – Application Fee of Rs.250/-(Rupees Two Hundred & Fifty only) for General and OBC category candidates. Processing Fee of Rs.50/- (Rupees Fiftyh only) for SC/ST/PH candidates. Application Fee and Processing fee should be paid in the form of Non-Refundable Demand Draft in favour of – SAIL-VISL, Payable at Bhadravathi-577 301, Shivamogga District, Karnataka State and drawn on any Nationalised Bank.
iii) Physical Standard: as per company Medical Rules.
7 Selection Procedure
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
1. Candidates will have to appear for the written test, interview and medical examination at their own cost.
2. The date, time and venue of written test and interview will be intimated in due course to all the eligible candidates only.
3. Candidates sponsored by the local Employment Exchanges will also have to apply on-line in the prescribed application format along with the requisite Fees as indicated in this advertisement, failing which they will not be considered for the selection process.
4. Candidates should be free from organic diseases of any sort and should not be subject to vertigo or diseases of heart, lung, kidney or abnormal eyesight without glasses. They should be free from any sort of deformity like flat foot, fractured limbs, defective knee joints, etc. effecting strenuous / hazardous duties of the profession.
5. Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their passing the Company’s Medical Examination as per standards laid down under SAIL’s Medical and Health Policy.
6. Candidates not satisfying the requisite eligibility criteria specified in this advertisement need not apply. If it is found at any stage of selection process that the candidate is not fulfilling the eligibility conditions or has given false information, his candidature will be rejected forthwith.
7. Candidates working in Government / Semi-Government / Public Undertakings will have to produce “No Objection Certificate” from the present employer at the time of interview.
8. The candidates should submit documentary proof of qualification, age, etc along with their applications. Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ OBC Category will have to submit certified copy of caste certificate and candidates belonging to Specially abled (PH) should submit a copy of the Disability certificate, issued by the prescribed authority along with the application form.
9. Candidates should give clear and complete postal address for correspondence & email, if any, Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant (VISL) will not be responsible for any postal delay / wrong delivery / non-delivery of any communication at any stage of the recruitment process.
10.Candidates should note that only the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate on the date of submission of application shall be accepted and no subsequent request for its change will be considered.
11. If all the necessary supporting documents (self certified) are not submitted along with the application, the application will be rejected summarily or at any stage of the recruitment process and no request to revival will be considered.
12.All the certificates related to qualification should be issued by the recognized board / institute. Wherever cumulative grade point average (CGPA) / overall grade average or a letter grade in degree is awarded, equal percentage of marks should be indicated in the application (online).
13. Candidates should affix their recent passport size colour photograph and put their full signature in the application form.
14. Incomplete, illegible, unsigned, application without demand draft of requisite amount or application without recent passport size coloured photograph will be summarily rejected. Envelope containing the application should be clearly super-scribed “Application for the post of “Operator-cum-Technician-Trainee” in Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant”.

Before registering the application on the website the candidates should possess a) valid email ID. b) Demand Draft for Rs.250/- for General and OBC candidates, Rs.50/- for SC/ST/PH candidates. SC/ST/PH/OBC candidates are required to submit a self attested copy of caste/disability certificate. Caste certificate issued by the Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar and self attested colour photograph against light background must be attached along with the application.
OBC candidates have to produce certificate issued by the District Magistrate / Dy. Commissioner etc. in the prescribed format with the heading “Form of certificate to be produced by Other Backward Classes (OBC) applying for appointment to post under Govt. of India. Please see Annexure-1, 2 and 3.
Applications not accompanied with copies of Matriculation, Diploma Certificate, Caste Certificate, PH Certificate, Demand Draft, Photograph shall be rejected. On the reverse side of the Demand Draft candidates name, address, application no. post applied for and category must be written.
The Online Registration will be open from 20.01.2012 to 09.02.2012
All information regarding examination schedule / admit card / interview etc., shall be provided through speed post / registered post.
